Greg Lemley and family fund

Hi family and friends,
Most of you know, my husband, Greg Lemley was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in early June of this year. This is a non small cell carcinoma that is found in the lungs. Through many tests and a biopsy, Greg has been told that without treatment, his life expectancy is 4-6 months. With treatment,? His Oncologist said that either way, this is a not survivable cancer.
He has started Chemotherapy treatment and a Study Trial drug called MK3475. This is an immunotherapy type drug that is still in the pre-FDA approved testing phase. We fought for Greg’s right to receive this treatment with his health insurance company, as it has shown promise of quantity and quality of life for Greg. There are many side effects with treatment and prescribed medications. This will likely make it impossible for Greg to drive the 90 mile round trip to work and back. We were told that Social Security has a ‘Compassionate’ clause, as where a person can collect their full retirement Social Security wage if that person has a Terminal illness. There is a BIG problem with this, however. There is a 7 month waiting period for the first payment and it is NOT retroactive. We will not receive any support until February of 2016. I do not understand how this is classified as compassionate, when a person is and may be faced with less time than this?
We are reaching out now for help. Greg has not been with his current employer for a long enough period of time to benefit from FMLA benefits. We are faced with paying for his COBRA, Life insurance premiums (to keep it activated) the ongoing medical bills and our monthly bills, on my income alone. This will be impossible. Our hope and prayer is that Greg will be able to stay in our home through to the end, whenever that may occur. This is a very humbling time in our lives, but we know that whatever happens, will be in our Creators’ plan. We are okay with that. Thank you all and we keep you close in our hearts and prayers, as well.
*I f you would like to donate anonymously; as I have in the past for others, please feel free to do so. We would however be grateful to know, so that we can thank you personally. We respect all wishes of privacy.
On an end note-I am an open book. Please feel free to ask me any questions. If I feel that the question is too personal, I will kindly let you know.
With love and gratitude,
