Abby's PDA Heart Surgery

Abby joined our family on April 4th of this year (Ryan's birthday) which was exactly a WEEK before we found out we were expecting our first child, Bennett. She is half lab, 1/4 black & tan coonhound, and 1/4 beauceron. She has been an absolute blessing to our family. At first we had reservations of having a puppy and baby in the same year, but God put her in our lives for a reason. She is so great with kids, obedient, loyal, loving, and now a part of our family.
Next month she will be turning 6 months old and we brought her to the vet ("Dr. Prior") to get spayed. Once she was put under anesthesia, Dr. Prior noticed some abnormalities in her breathing and could hear a heart murmur. Because of this, Abby had an EKG performed as well as x-rays that were sent to a board of veterinarian specialists (specifically cardiologists). The results came back that she has PDA [Patent Ductus Arteriosus]. PDA is a birth defect in the heart that can be fixed if surgery is performed. We have been given three options: 1) have surgery performed by Texas A&M costing around $3,500 that will cure her heart disease, 2) forego the surgery and let her live with future complications that could lead to a short life (less than one year) and passing from congestive heart failure, or 3) put her to sleep so she has no future suffering.
Of course, OPTION #1 is what we would like to do but with the coming of our first child, our money obligations are for birth and other expenses. We want and would love for Abby to be here to meet and grow up with Bennett. We are asking for any help we can get regarding Abby's heart surgery expenses. All donations will go toward her surgery and if we are fortunate enough to raise more than our goal, the extra donations will be donated to Texas A&M's Veterinary School for future research.
