I never thought I was going to have to do this but I have no other options. My dad has passed away. He was 92 years old.
A bit of a backstory. My mom passed away in 2015. They were married for 55 years. At this point my dad had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Once my mom passed away, I quit my job because my dad was against being put in a home so I became his full time care taker. That's all I have been doing for the past 8+ years. During this time he has had multiple hospitalizations with aspiration pneumonia and I had never left his side until he was home safe. I took my job as his care taker very seriously. My scheduled revolved around his well being to the point that I would not spend time with my husband outside of our house. No regrets.
Unfortunately this past November, we all caught covid. Everyone here is vaccinated including my dad. He, being 92 years old, even with the vaccine, took it hard. He was hospitalized for 4 days then released but he was never the same. His congestion never got better. Then on November 30th, his breathing got super elaborated. I called the ambulance and got him to the hospital. I then was told that he had a severe case of covid pneumonia that he didn't have when he was diagnosed. It was downhill from there. From swelling and leaking of his arms, to kidney failure. He never had a chance to recovered, no matter what treatment he was given.
My father didn't have much. All he ever thought us was to be kind to others and love one another. He also did not leave anything for his funeral. That's why this is my last option. Anything helps.
Thank you from my family and from the bottom of our hearts.
