Gabby Peppard's Trauma Recovery

Donation protected
Hi, our names are Tia and Kaitlyn and we are fundraising for our dear friend and coworker Gabby Peppard.

On Monday, June 12th, Gabby left home in Port Angeles, WA to embark on a great white water rafting journey on the Grande Ronde River in Oregon with her Uncle Cory and some of their family friends. In the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 14th, a large tree fell on their campsite and struck some of the tents still occupied by the rafters. The tragic accident took the life of Gabby's Uncle Cory and injured his girlfriend. Gabby's tent was also struck, and she sustained serious head trauma and fractured orbital bones. A metal camping chair next to where she slept is said to have saved her from fatal injuries by mere inches. Gabby was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Idaho. Gabby loves everything outdoors and is always up for wilderness adventures. She is very active in the horse community and spends all her free time with her two Mustang horses, Amaguito and Dodger. She is always helping other riders at our barn, including Kaitlyn's daughter, and is passionate about sharing her love of natural horsemanship and Mustang rescue. This year, Gabby joined us working at the local garden center, where she has become a well-loved member of our team, and a new close friend to many employees and regular customers. Working each day without her has been a huge heartache for us all.

We know that Gabby has a very long road to recovery ahead of her, both from her physical injuries as well as emotional injuries from the traumatic loss of her Uncle Cory and the events of that tragic day. We are asking for any donations to help support Gabby in paying for her expenses while she continues her healing and her journey back to work and to her horses. Life after this experience will be so different for our friend, and we want to help in any way that we can. Donations would be used to pay for the hospital bills, medical airlift, housing, travel home, and her horses' care until she is able to work full-time again.

If you have the ability or desire to help our beloved friend, please consider donating.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Gabby's story!
