Gabby's Educational Fund in Memory of Lisa

Dear Community,


On Thursday, October 8th, our community experienced a tremendous loss. 

Lisa Gavilanez, a cherished wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend, left us too soon - leaving behind a family and community to mourn her immense loss.  The magnitude of this loss can be felt all over - enveloping every person Lisa has touched, no matter the size.


Lisa’s most true joy came from her beautiful family; her husband, Fernando and three beautiful children - Fernando (Macho), Jocelyn and Gabby.  She was a proud wife and mother.  Lisa could be found at all of their events - cheering and encouraging them to always do their best.  She was truly who you wanted to sit with at these events.  Her enthusiasm was contagious; her spirit was admirable and irresistible. 


Her time was deeply embedded in sports, cheerleading, PTA, and Girl Scouts, a small sample of how Lisa gave back to our community.  If there was a fundraiser to benefit the children of a graduating class or to sponsor an event for the school, Lisa’s name would be at the top of the list of those helping.  Her kindness, inclusion and generosity spanned across every grade level, her concern was that all were included.  


The loss of our dear friend will be felt deeply; her spirit will never leave us.  Such a kind and generous soul will never be forgotten.  As a community, we’d like to honor Lisa’s memory by showing Fernando, Fernando, Jocelyn and Gabby our support.  We are asking, if you can, to make a donation, big or small, to help Lisa’s family provide Gabby the best opportunities she can possibly have moving forward.  Lisa would have wanted this, she was a strong believer in family and community.
