Gabe McGuire Recovery Fund
September 9th, Gabe was in an accident while cutting down a tree that resulted in the fracture to his C5 vertebra, resulting in a severe spinal cord injury as well sustaining other less severe, but very painful injuries. He was brought to Regions hospital where he underwent emergency surgery to release the pressure from his spinal cord, which was successful, but due to the amount of swelling of the spinal cord it is too early to tell what the prognosis is for regaining full use of his legs. After he is able to leave the ICU he will spend the next 3 months in Regions Acute Rehab Center working hard regaining his arm and hand functions and just learning to live life independently again in order to come home and start some intense physical rehab over the next several years to gain some mobility back.
