Gadsden Elem.’s 5th Gd. Trip to Washington, DC

We are excited and gearing up for our year 2020 trip to Washington, DC!  This trip will afford our 5th Graders the opportunity to learn more about the three branches of government!

While in Washington, they will get the opportunity to visit the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, Lincoln Memorial, MLK Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, WWII, Korean, and Vietnam Memorials, Arlington Cemetary and the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

We are a Title I School of Distinction and US Department of Education Green Ribbon School located in the inner-city in Savannah, GA.  Ninety-eight percent of our students receive free or reduced meals each day.  Our student body is 97 percent African-American.  

Our goal is to raise enough money to take 40 students to DC this year and we are asking for your financial support to assist us with this effort. The trip cost is 483.00 per person.
