Gail Root - Mother, Mentor, Teacher, Friend

Our wonderful friend and mentor, Gail Root, is facing some health challenges. She recently had her rouge spleen removed due to a discovery of lymphoma. The next step for Gail is several rounds of chemo. Gail is not sure how much she can return to work during this time and is facing unexpected financial challenges. On a senior fixed income, the economic challenge is worrisome for her.

Gail started her beloved Parents’ Place in 1986, and I met Gail in 1989. During these past 33 years, I have watched her mentor and care for many families on the Peninsula. It is very hard for her to ask for help. However, she is now willing to do so. Many of us have been touched by her love and kindness. It is time for us to return some of that.
