Gail Smith Funeral Costs
My name is Bette Smith. On March 12th my mother Gail Smith was diagnosed with Covid-Pneumonia, placed on ventilator and hospitalized for the past two weeks. Unfortunately, on March 25th 2021, she passed away as her body could not fight the virus.
She was an amazing person and I know she was very loved. My mom has always been my support system in every way especially emotionally and I loved her very much. It really hurts to see her go like this. I wouldn't be the person I am today without her. She always had a way of making you smile regardless of the situation. I loved how she was always so positive and always had a smile on her face. Looking at all of the support from her Facebook post, I can tell that she has affected many people around her and there are many who cared about her as well. She was the most creative and bright spirited woman I have ever known. She was also a very kind and giving woman. When we attended church, she volunteered for most committees. She was a lay speaker and she always found ways to stay involved. Anyone that has ever worked or been associated with her knows that she would make assortments for everyone in the office for the holidays. She never missed a beat when it came to helping others. Even after retirement, she still made attempts to give small gifts to her past co-workers. I'm grateful to have known such a kindhearted person.
Right now, we're in a really tough situation. The funeral costs are extremely expensive (in the thousands) and it doesn't look like we will have enough to cover the costs. My younger brother is still in school and I lost my jobs during covid. We're also facing a situation in which we're being forced to move. It seems very impossible to cover all of these expenses within the timeframe given to us. I typically try not to ask for anything but we are in a really desperate state right. With no income and with upcoming expenses, we really need help. We would appreciate anything that you can give.. If you can't donate, please share this in hopes that maybe someone can help. We want to give my mother a proper burial so we would appreciate anything.
Also, if you have any information on professional jobs in the area that are hiring, housing leads, or any programs outside of FEMA that may help us in this situation, please reach out to me.
Thank you again
