Gail Varady, R.N. aged 69, of Newark, DE. died on February 23, 2017. Gail was born in Creston, North Carolina and was raised in Avondale, PA. Gail graduated from Avon Grove High School in 1965. She immediately attended the Nursing School of Wilmington and graduated in 1967 as a registered nurse. Gail worked 23 years as a loving and caring nurse in multiple inpatient and outpatient areas. She was married for 49 years to her husband, Albert Varady, RN.
Gail was preceded in death by her father Willet Price, her mother Hazel Cornett Price Binkley, stepfather Robert Binkley and her sister Betty Sue Lowd. She is survived by her beloved husband Al, 5 loving children, Dawn Graham, Andy Varady, Jennifer Varady, Holly Varady and April Varady, 12 loving grandchildren - Deanna Varady, Michael Varady, Caitlyn Varady, Alyssa Varady, Matthew Graham, Briana Varady, Eric Graham, Jeremy Varady, Nicholas Gaskins, Isabella Varady-Nelson, and Madelyn Gaskins and her sisters Barbara Faulkner, Helen Binkley and Jean Binkley Higgins.
Gail thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and loved both floral and vegetable gardening. She surrounded herself with large flower beds of roses, peonies, lilies and hostas, and was truly a ‘Flower Whisperer’.
Gail is a born again, devout Christian and enjoyed reading the Bible and sharing what she learned. Gail’s Faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior helped her through her debilitating illness.
The funds received from this campaign will be used towards the funeral costs.
