Gallery House x Artshack Brooklyn
Tax deductible
DGT Foundation is the non-profit charitable arm of DGT Alumni Association. It provides Gallery House, an internship for undergraduates in art and design fields, offering experiential learning in curating, marketing and promoting a fine arts exhibit that itself benefits a charity chosen by the participating students each semester. This semester our exhibit is titled “As Below So Below, As Within So Without.”
There is an alchemical moment of contact when you and the space you inhabit mutually imprint on one another, much like the moment of contact between the artist and the work of art. We are encouraging artists to show work that represents how their space effects them and how they effect their spaces. This work will be highlighted in Gallery House's second online show.
Our beneficiary this year is Artshack Brooklyn. They are a nonprofit ceramics studio located in Bedford- Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. They are committed to developing accountability as an anti-racist, queer-affirming organization that celebrates the creativity of youth and honors people of all abilities. They fulfill their mission to make ceramic arts more accessible by providing scholarships to at least a quarter of the kids in their afterschool program, holding regular free community days for local residents, and offering free or subsidized ceramic classes to local low income high school students, seniors, and differently abled adults.
All donations from the digital exhibition will go towards our beneficiary organization, Artshack Brooklyn
