Galloway MRT 50th Anniversary - 50000 Activity Challenge

Galloway Mountain Rescue Team is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, and some team members are undertaking epic challenges.

Firstly, there is the 50,000 challenge, which will end on 31st December 2025.

George, Stew, and Craig's challenge is to complete 50,000 sit-ups, 50,000 press-ups, and 50,000 squat thrusts.

Karen, Ross, James, Christy and David's challenge is a 50,000-metre ascent from any sporting activity.

Secondly, Karen, Ross, James, and Stew will undertake the Montane Spine MRT Challenger South in June. This is a non-stop, 108-mile Mountain Rescue Team race along the Pennine Way.

All proceeds raised will go towards the ongoing running costs of our voluntary search and rescue team.
