Help us improve school facilities in The Gambia

Our mission: to improve the education, facilities and welfare of schools and nurseries in The Gambia.

In April 2024, myself, and fellow Touchstone Education coach Helen Louise and Indy Gill will be travelling to The Gambia to offer our help with the educational environment and living conditions for children. We will be visiting secondary schools, primary schools, an orphanage and a nursery, providing the students with essential items including shoes, stationery, books and uniforms to improve their learning experience.

The Gambia is one of the smallest and most challenged countries in Africa, and one of the poorest in the world. Despite recent advancements, over half of the adult population remains illiterate, and children continue to face significant barriers to education. Our mission is fueled by the belief that every child deserves a quality education and the basic necessities to support their learning.

We're committed to not just enhancing the physical environment but also ensuring each child has the tools and resources needed for success, including providing each student with new shoes to replace walking barefoot to school.

Our fundraising goal is £10,000, a sum that will profoundly impact the lives of these children and their communities. Your donation can light up the future for these young individuals and give them the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment.

Every contribution you make will be fully allocated to the schools and children in The Gambia. Rest assured that all personal expenses related to flights, accommodation, meals, and other travel costs for the team are entirely self-funded. This ensures that every single penny you donate is directly utilised for aiding those in need within The Gambia.
