Game Outcomes Project round 2
Donation protected
In 2014-15, a small industry/academic partnership launched a novel study of factors that influence the culture of game studios and game development teams and the outcomes of their efforts. This resulted in a series of 5 landmark articles based on data analysis from that survey:
Part 1: The Best and the Rest
Part 2: Building Effective Teams
Part 3: Game Development Factors
Part 4: Crunch Makes Games Worse
Part 5: What Great Teams Do
Several members of the original Game Outcomes Project team have volunteered to help create and analyze a new, improved, bigger, and better version of that study in 2018, and we're being advised in our efforts by Dr. Colin Fisher, an expert in temporal management and high-performance teams .
We're raising funds to support this new second round of the Game Outcomes Project. We need help with IGDA newsletter mailers to share the new and improved survey once it's ready in summer of 2018, and to license the necessary analytics tools to analyze the data.
We're planning to use our results from the first version of the study to simplify and streamline the existing survey and also explore several other aspects of game industry culture.
Any corporate sponsorships are also most welcome; contact the organizer if your company is interested in helping fund this effort.
Any funds in excess of our goal will be dedicated toward additional advertising and future versions of the study.
