Hey, Friends!
My name is Nola Rodney, and I'm passionate about supporting my community.
The first initiative through my beloved Guildford and Erma Foundation is Chill and Chat, a safe and supportive workshop series focused on mental care.
Next is The Technical Bridge, where our focus is teaching technology literacy to seniors and all who need it.
After that, The Financial Freedom Formula will be geared toward financial literacy and wealth building.
ABOUT THE GUILDFORD & ERMA FOUNDATION
The Guildford & Erma Foundation (G & E Foundation) is an emerging community support system that empowers underserved communities through essential services and educational programs. Named in honor of my grandparents, the foundation aims to become a source of hope, resilience, and care for all.
Our mission is to foster growth and inclusivity by focusing on mental care awareness, digital literacy, and financial education. Through free workshops, community outreach, and partnerships, we strive to uplift individuals, close opportunity gaps, and build stronger, more connected communities.
At the core of the G&E Foundation is a commitment to providing the tools and resources needed for individuals to thrive—whether that’s teaching technology skills, offering mental care sessions in a supportive environment, or ensuring families have access to essential community ties.
Together, we’re creating pathways to a more empowered future. Join us in this important journey as we work toward formalizing our organization and expanding our impact.
I HAVE A STORY TO TELL YOU
My grandparents, Guildford and Erma Rodney, are the heart behind the Guildford & Erma Foundation.
Daddy (my grandpa) was a brilliant carpenter and architect, capable of building anything with his hands. Granny was known for her incredible baking, which filled the home with warmth and the scent of fresh bread and cakes. But behind their talents lay deep, unspoken grief.
Together, they endured the unbearable loss of multiple children. For Guildford, this loss may have been the force that led him to battle alcoholism, while Erma’s emotions often manifested in anger and volatility. Their pain, like so many in their community, went unaddressed and untreated, leaving them without the support they desperately needed.
In their day, conversations about mental care were rare, and the tools to help people heal were virtually nonexistent. My grandfather's brilliance faded behind his addiction, and my grandmother's generous heart was overshadowed by her emotional struggles. I now realize that their suffering could have been alleviated if there had been more awareness and understanding of mental health, grief, and trauma.
Perhaps they would still be alive today.
Through the Guildford & Erma Foundation, I’m dedicated to ensuring their legacy of healing and community care, not silent suffering.
Your support helps provide the resources and conversations they never had, creating a world where others can find hope, healing, and strength in times of hardship.
By donating, you help build a community that uplifts and cares for its people—a community my grandparents deserved and one we can create together.
