Helping Ganta Liberia West Africa Mission
Donation protected
My name is Paul and I am raising funds to support my 2-week trip to Ganta, Liberia. I will be part of a mission team that is responding to a request for help from the United Methodist Church (UMC) in a remote station surrounded by rainforest and bordered by Gambia to the north, approximately 200 miles from the Liberia capital, Monrovia. In 1925 a Methodist physician established the mission station which now includes a hospital, a nursing school, a leprosy center, and extensive agricultural lands. The UMC in North Carolina is shipping equipment, materials, and supplies in support of our project to assist the residents in becoming self-sufficient. Our team will help construct a facility to enable the residents to process pork for transport to markets outside Ganta. Monies that I raise will go directly to paying my travel costs, with all excess funds going to support the Ganta Mission Station. I have traveled all 7 continents of the world, but this will be my very first mission trip, fulfilling a childhood dream to be a missionary in Africa. I will write a travelogue of my adventures to share with all those interested in this project. Thank you for your support.
