Gareth Arnold Supertwin TT 2024

Donation protected
we are fundraising to help Gareth Arnold with the purchase of a replacement engine for his Aprilia RS660 Supertwin machine so that he is able to compete in the Supertwin class at TT 2024.
After a very successful start to the 2024 season with Gareth taking second place at the Cookstown 100 and showing great results in the North West 200 qualifying sessions, unfortunately in the last lap of the Nw200 supertwin race 2 Gareth's machine encountered significant engine failure. The extent of the damage has since deemed the engine to be beyond repair and as such Gareth is now in need of a new engine in order to be able to compete on the Aprilia RS660 machine in the 2024 Isle of Man TT Supertwin races.
As racers, teams and supporters are aware, the cost of competing in motorcycle racing is extremely high and continues to rise as time goes on. Gareth is a privateer racer with a small team behind him compromising of himself, his mum Jennie and some close friends. His racing is, for the most part, funded by his own working income as well as significant financial and physical support from his mum Jennie. As his two main sponsors and both close friends, Kyle from RPM Events and Phil from Phil Berney Groundwork & Construction also support Gareth's racing career financially and with helping to run and prepare the bikes during the racing season. With being such a small privateer team it can often be a challenge to find sponsors to support with the costs of racing and as a result, with the unexpected and significant cost involved in purchasing a new engine in time for the 2024 Isle of Man TT, we are now turning to friends, family, fans and racing enthusiasts to help us get Gareth to the startline.

This year will see Gareth return to the TT on his Aprilia RS660 after his TT debut in 2023 on the same machine, finishing the event with a 17th and 15th in class, a very impressive result for sure. Gareth has high hopes for this years races and significant improvements have been made to the supertwin machine, as well as Gareth feeling ever more comfortable with the machine and the mountain course.
Gareth's first introduction to the mountain course came in the summer of 2022 as he made his debut at the Manx Grand Prix aboard his Yamaha TZ250, finishing 9th in his first ever race around the Isle of Man at just 19 years old! Although Gareth is still fairly new to the mountain course, his career as a road racer was established a lot earlier in life and from the age of 8 years old as he began competing in championships such as the National Hillclimb Championship and CRMC, later moving on to Irish road races such as Armoy, Cookstown and North West 200.
Over the past couple of years Gareth has matured incredibly as a young road racer and shows such promise for the future. Races such as the Isle of Man TT play a significant part in a road racers career with experiences to be gained, challenges faced and publicity given. The TT for Gareth is not only the biggest race event of the season but also an event he has dreamed of competing in from as early as he can remember.

Any donation no matter how much is greatly appreciated by Gareth and the team and will go a long way in helping us to get Gareth to the startline and heading down Bray hill once again. We will be making a banner displaying the names of all of the people who make a donation to this page which will then be displayed in our awning at the TT to say thank you to everyone for their support.
