Gareth John Brown

Dear all,

I’m Gemma Brown daughter of late Gareth Brown. My father took unwell 4th June this year and was admitted into hospital. Dad had history of heart disease and gallstones. Unfortunately his chest pain was put down to his heart condition and gallstones weren't considered and no scans were performed at crucial times.

My father was moved to another hospital 3rd July to have a triple heart bypass 4th July. This operation couldn’t go ahead as Dads blood results before being moved and whilst at the other hospital had changed again. This meant any operation was a risk to his life especially with it being major surgery. His liver and kidneys were failing. Dad was moved back the same day but now onto critical care ICU. Where Dad spent his last 8 days fighting for his life and trying his best to stay with us his family.

The day Dad passed away (11th July) we were told he was going to die but an operation to remove his gallbladder was an option as they now knew it had gone septic. Dad was too unwell to consent for this. And he later passed away that day before anaesthetic had finished being administered. With us being told the devastating news that he was gone.

Dads gallbladder went septic, causing septic shock and then multi organ failure.

When I lost Dad I lost my world. He was a beautiful soul. I am raising funds for UNITED KINGDOM SEPSIS TRUST LIMITED and every donation will help other families from it being missed and having to go through the unbearable pain. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
