My name is Garner Offutt. I was born at Fort Knox 16 years ago and moved to New Albany to be closer to my grandmother over 10 years ago. I will be starting my Junior year at Floyd Central and I play football and wrestle.
Two years ago, my 83 year old grandmother fell ill. The Villages of Silvercrest was the best option my aunts and uncles found for her. The 3 months she was here were the best we could’ve asked for. After she passed away, I knew that when it was time for my Eagle Project, I wanted to give back.
I want to create a space for the residents and their families where they can be outside and enjoy the views available to them. I’m raising money for a brick patio by the pavilion. I also hope to have money left over to add more plants and add a few benches.
