A Life Well Lived!
On the baseball field Garry Hill rarely faced a challenge he couldn't conquer. Whether he was dominating batters with his overpowering fastball or delivering key hits himself at the plate, his high school and college exploits are legendary. Additionally he did it with a combination of quiet confidence and sportsmanship that should be the model for any youngster wanting to play the game the right way. A few months ago Garry began facing a challenge more daunting than his earlier days on the baseball diamond. Pancreatic cancer is one of the more ominous variations of the dreaded disease and Garry faced it with a grace and dignity that was inspiring to those of us who loved him. Garry passed away early morning on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. We now have a chance to "Step Up To the Plate" and make a difference for Garry's beloved wife Sandra and the Hill family. Medical expenses from procedures a few weeks back in preparation for clinical trials are not covered by medical insurance and could balloon to as much as $30,000. Please join us in this GoFundMe campaign to honor Garry's final wish that Sandra and family not be saddled with uncovered expenses incurred during his final illness.
