Garton Barton House Build

The Garton-Bartons are getting married! In lieu of a wedding gift, we would appreciate a small contribution towards our house build/improvements. 

For the past year and a bit, we have been living in an old shack at the back of a piece of land that Ben bought on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. It's very charming, but it's not suitable for starting a family. Our ultimate goal is to save up enough to build a proper insulated home on the property in the next couple of years, with septic system and enough room for our soon-to-be little family. We have had help from Chris Barton, Ben's dad, in finding a great architect who can design this in sections, adding each piece as we can manage it. 
But we can’t manage it just yet, and in the meantime, the shack needs some upgrades!

Here’s what we’ve been able to do with the gifts received so far:
✅ Newer, bigger hot water cylinder for the outdoor shower
✅ Dishwasher (this has been life-changing)
✅ Hot water inside
✅ Composting toilet system for the outhouse - dedicating this one to Uncle John Garton

We’re still looking to get:
an electric heater
Thermal curtains
a pressure pump (~$250)
a 2,000L water tank for more roof collection (~$500)
a UV water filter system for the roof collection ($1,000-2,000)
preliminary architect’s plans for the build (~$4,000)
⭐️ A DRIVEWAY (~$40,000)
