You may remember our inaugural “Everyday Necessities Drive for North County Seniors" holiday drive in 2020 where we were able to create and distribute holiday and new year bundles. Since the drive was so successful we wanted to expand and support in more ways! Not only will we collect new and unused care items that will be assembled into holiday gift packages and new year bundles for participants, but we want to fulfill a few special requests.
This year, we want to make the holiday extra special for a few of our outstanding North County seniors! Starting November 30th, we will begin collecting financial donations to support the initiative. These seniors will be West PACE participants as well as non-PACE participants who live in the communities of San Marcos, Vista, Escondido, Ramona, Oceanside, Carlsbad, and other adjacent areas. At the end of the campaign, West PACE and community partners will use the funds to purchase the items on the seniors’ wish list, as well as supplement the holiday bundles. These items can include warm clothing accessories such as scarves, mittens, gloves, socks (grip resistant); fleece blankets; lip balm; hand soap; men’s undershirts; and toothpaste and toothbrushes.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support North San Diego County seniors with chronic care needs who rely on West PACE and community partners for high-quality, comprehensive, and coordinated healthcare, social services which help them successfully age in place rather than in a nursing home.
