Gary Brabender's memorial fund

*I have set this fundraiser up at the request of Gary's family and all funds will go directly to them.

If you were lucky enough to meet Gary you knew immediately how he felt. Quick to be grumpy, quick to laugh, bartending in socks... He was one in a million. Truly smart, funny, and loyal, Gary was the perfect bartender but what he really was excelled at was being a dedicated Dad and Grandpa (Opa). He was also a friend to so many in our community and will be missed dearly.

Gary had been very privately struggling with health issues the last few years so his passing might come as a surprise to many of you. Gary handled these challenges the way he lived life, with stubbornness and no complaints. To say he is gone too soon is an understatement. He didn't get to say good bye to so many of his friends and family. He also didn't get to finish preparing and settling his affairs.

Gary never wanted to be a burden on anyone. Sadly the true costs of his final bills, funeral, and house clean out will create a substantial burden for his family.

I hope you will join me in toasting Gary one last time. I say we ease this burden on them the way his friendship and steadiness eased our stresses at the bar, on the golf course, or at the state school over the years. It's a fitting way to say good bye. As they say, every bit counts and the family thanks you in advance for your support.
