Gary Brooks and his Family

On behalf of Gary Brooks’ family, I write to let you know Gary Brooks who was is in extremely critical condition at Cleveland Clinic with an extremely poor prognosis. With multiple organ failure, he was hospitalized a month ago. He passed away peacefully this morning (06/17)

The hospital failed to treat him with care and perforated his artery during a routine procedure. This ultimately, eliminated his chances as being a viable surgical candidate. Which ultimately led to his death.

We lost my mom 15 years ago and my dad has struggled with his health since. He changed his habits and visited multiple doctors that missed his critical and common heart condition.

Failing to catch this issue led to blindness and severe liver issues. We fought very hard to ensure he could get the heart surgery that would save his life.

Our family is distraught but at the same time, we must move forward and accept God’s will and plan.

My sister and I have been trying to get his health and legal affairs in order, but working and being in school, his blindness, his health scares, and his quick health health descent have all placed significant complications in the process.

The purpose of this gofundme is multi-faceted:

1) To raise funds for a proper burial and funeral;

2) To raise funds for my sister and I to handle his estates and go through the legal process;

3) To raise money to cover his medical costs; and

4) To generally support my sister and I, given the time and travel.

My father is a beautiful soul that has touched, helped, and entertained so many lives during his 61 years on this planet. This has been a nightmare, and our only hope is to gain peace at this time.
