Gary Burke Fund

On the morning of August 23rd, 2015, Gary woke up unable to move his right leg. He was rushed to the hospital. An MRI revealed that he had a very rare infection inside of his spinal cord, causing it to swell. The swelling left him quadriplegic and on a ventilator for more than two weeks. Gary was in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation centers for more than 7 months. He has been at home since March 2016. Gary’s wife Cathy, and his caregiver Hazel, have been invaluable to his recovery efforts. Gary is currently attending outpatient rehab and working on getting stronger and gaining more independence. Many of the expenses Gary and his family have incurred has been out of pocket.
