Dear family and friends,
After years of Gary battling Multiple Myeloma, which took out his kidneys, enduring nine years of Dialysis with back to back stem cell transplants in Arkansas, he was able to get a kidney transplant back in 2010. But as we all know things did not go as according to planned and as a result to complications from the surgery he suffered 3 bilateral strokes which placed him in a 3 month coma. Learning to walk and talk all over again was a challenge but the Gary we all know and love proved nothing can hold him down.
Two weeks before this last Christmas in 2018, our family received devastating news that Gary was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Our world came crashing down once again. Due to the fact that the Cancer has begun to spread rapidly even with treatment, he is in need of 24 hour care. I had no other choice but to take FMLA ( Family Medical Leave Act) from my work and become his primary care giver. With that being said we are only living on his disability check which is not enough to pay the overwhelming amount of bills. Such as our utilities, property taxes, medical bills, medicine, transportation needs, to name just a few. This is extremely hard for me to even ask for help, but I know I can not handle all this on my own.
Thank you for the out pouring support of all our amazing friends and family, that has been there from the beginning. Gary has been an inspiration to us all. Even on his worst days he still gives us that amazing smile. He is fighting this battle with everything he has, not only for me and his family but for his friends as well.
We love each and every one of you with all our hearts!
