Gary Grogan

Ex-Cambridge City Striker and Southern League Winner, Gary Grogan was recently rushed into Addenbrookes Hospital, he was operated on straight away due to an aneurysm in his leg which caused a blood clot. If he had not had the operation straight away chances are that he would have lost his leg, and the outcome would have been a lot worse if he hadn't made it to the hospital. He had also suffered a second aneurysm in his stomach which was also operated on.

Three operations and three weeks in hospital have taken their toll on Gary but thanks to his strength of character and the amazing doctors and staff, he is now doing well, and has been allowed home for the time being, but the treatment is ongoing.

Those that were lucky enough to watch Gary play at Cambridge City FC will remember a man that epitomised the team spirit that flowed through the club during his time at the Lilywhites. He gave his all for the shirt and was a fan favourite for many years.

Gary played his 706 games (most appearances all time), scored 227 goals (2nd all time goals)

made his debut 3/10/1981 and played his last game 7/5/1994. GAry Truly is a City Legend
