Gary Matthew McKinnon II Memorial & Burial Fees

The family of Gary Matthew McKinnon II has been faced with a decision no family should have to make. After a hit-and-run accident on March 15th, Gary’s doctors have determined that his injuries are too serious and his brain and body will not wake up from this terrible accident. Gary had previously made his wishes known by signing up to be an organ donor on 15 separate occasions! That is a pretty clear showing of his wishes. His family is honoring these wishes so that their incredible loss can serve to help save the lives of others that await organ and/or tissue donations. On March 21st, Gary’s wishes will be fulfilled and he will be removed from life support. He has been matched with 8 organ recipients who will receive his lungs, hearts, kidneys, liver, and pancreas. Others will receive tissue donations when matched at a later date.

Gary, just 24 years old, is the son of Crystal Grobe and Alex Chakur, and Gary and Angela McKinnon. He is the brother of Chip and Maggie Barth, Braden McKinnon, Bo and Danielle Reese, Kristen Haas, Johnny Howard, Cadence Routt, and Walter Everly. But his most important role is that of a father. His daughter, Adeline, 3 years old, is now faced with growing up without a father. Adeline’s mother, Tejeda will raise her as a single mother with the support of Gary's Parents/Adeline’s grandparents. Their most immediate needs are to cover the expenses of his memorial service and burial, something that no parent should have to face, let alone while also wondering if the driver of the vehicle that hit him will be found. 

Please help support his family and his daughter in this time of their grief. This family deserves to provide a meaningful service and burial for their 24 year old son. Any excess funds will be used to provide for Adeline.
