Gary Michael Smith's Memorial Expenses
Our Father was an amazing man and he absolutely loved life. His main goal in life was to make everyone happy around him. If you were having a bad day, he would find a way to make you smile and make you laugh. If he was down or having a bad day himself, he would find something positive or something strange that happened during the day and make a joke out of it to get himself out of his funk. At the age of 64, he lost his life way too young. We should have had him with us for another 10 to 20 years, but cancer doesn’t take that into account and will tear your world apart.
Our father had stage 4 cancer and was giving it all that he had. Sadly at his last checkup, all avenues had been crossed and he was very quickly losing the battle. We moved him into Hospice after we were told that he only had 3 to 6 more months with us. He was with us for only 7 more amazing weeks. Sadly, he did not have any life insurance and as soon as we moved him into Hospice, we set up everything for his funeral thinking that we would have time to continue to plan and pay it off. This unfortunately was not our reality. He made one payment with his Medicare payments and that was the last one that he received for the month of December. This leaves his children left with paying for his funeral and we only have 30 days to pay this off before they add more each month that it is not paid. We have researched and looked through any other avenue we possibly could and there is just not any other choice for us, than creating this page. All of us thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
