Gary Paquin's Lyme/Parkinson Fight
Donation protected
Five years ago my life changed. I went from being a professional drummer with an active life contributing to many causes and my church, to being stopped dead in my tracks when I contracted Lyme Disease. After a delayed diagnosis of over 1.5 years the Lyme Disease became chronic affecting me neurologically and over the next period of time I further declined and was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Mainstream pharmaceuticals were tried to combat my condition but failed to work and left me extremely sick, disabled and hospitalized. I then found alternative therapies in the USA that are not available in Canada as well as a Naturopathic Doctor that brought some relief without the nasty side effects of the pharmaceuticals. This in turn has caused great financial strain due to the fact they are out of pocket costs. I have no benefits or health coverage to help with the costs. In the meantime my condition worsens as my motor skills and my ability to function routine daily tasks decline with every day that passes. On the verge of despair and after much research, Stem Cell Treatment proved to be the answer to my prayers. This treatment is also supported by my medical team who feel it is the best chance I have to stay out of a wheelchair. There is a huge urgency to get the funds for the treatment as I fight to maintain my independence and dignity as the diseases take more of my life from me day after day... time is not on my side. Stem Cell Treatment for my condition is Patient funded and there are no current trials, so again it is an out of pocket cost. I have sold most of what I own to try and keep up to the monthly cost of treatment, not to mention the cost of the Stem Cell Treatment itself. 48 years of type 1 Diabetes is also complicating things both financially and from a health perspective. All of the help I have received to date financially and from a research campaign have been provided by my partner and best friend, Sherry. These funds would relieve a great financial strain for both of us and make the Stem Cell Treatment a life saving reality. www.vanstemcell.com
