Gary Smith - Medical Expenses

Hi my name is Christi. I am the daughter of Gary and Trudy Smith. My dad was diagnosed with rectal cancer in May 2022.

Many of you know him as a school bus driver. He was a truck driver while I was growing up. I think his love for school bus driving started back in my high school years when he drove our big blue marching band instrument bus. After some other driving jobs, he began driving school bus more permanently. He has driven many of us, your kids and grandkids to sports activities, field trips, and more! I've had many people tell me how great of a driver and how cool he is! I must say, I agree! He has not been able to drive much since then. He is hoping to get back to it if able.

Since his diagnosis he has done many radiation treatments and months of chemotherapy. He has traveled numerous times to Pittsburgh for testing and surgeon appointments. He is now facing major surgery on April 20th in Pittsburgh, PA, at Montefiore. He will be hospitalized for around 5 days. He has gone through all of this treatment and has had travel and medical expenses which he has been trying to handle on his own and will continue to have these mount up.

It is very hard to ask for help, but I can't think of a more deserving man! He is an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. If you would be able to help in any way, it would be most appreciated!
