Hi, my name is Kimberly Stroup Smith, I am fundraising for my brother Gary Stroup, who passed away today after a heart attack at the age of 60 years old. He had issues with his heart for many years. He had open heart surgery many years ago where they performed 5 byasses. At that time they told us that his heart had grown new blood vessels to support itself. Miracle number one. Fast forward to 2019 when they placed a stent in one of the veins. He was in and out of the hospital within just a day or so.. MIracle number two. 2021 they placed two stents in the same vessel and placed a graft, another miracle.

Monday morning around 2 A.M. I received a text from his wife Venessa telling me they were on the way to the hospital, they thought he was having a heart attack. He indeed did. We did not know the extent of the damage until an angiogram was done today. Where we found that the last two stents and graft was damaged by the heart attack. He quickly began to spiral from there and around 1 p.m he was gone to heaven to meet our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

He leaves behind his Wife of 24 years Venessa. His Father and Mother William and Margaret Stroup. His sister and brother in law Kimberly and JImmy Smith. 3 nephews, Zachary Smith, Seth Smith, and Noah Smith. One niece, Cassie Kindzerski and husband Lance as well as 2 great nieces Evelyn, Audrey and 1 great nephew Julien. Many extended family and friends.

Gary had a sense of humor like no one else I know. Contagious laughter, love for family and friends, but most importantly a love for Jesus. He shared it with anyone that was willing to listen and some that weren't so much. He could tell you anything about the bible that you wanted to know. He was heavily involved with Kenneth Copeland Ministries Eagle Mountain online communities and bible studies. He was always a willing ear for those that needed him to listen, myself included. He never judged. He would guide or council. but never judge....

He did not have burial insurance. Which is the reason for this fundraiser. If you feel led to donate it would be greatly appreciated. We as a family thank you for the many prayers and condolences already received. Please continue to pray for us all. We do not know of this world without him in it. All funds will be used for burial or to support Venessa if anything is leftover.
