Surgery and Recovery Fund for Gary Wilkes

Gary Wilkes is one of the strongest voices of reason and compassion in the dog training world today. Many of his thousands of followers can tell you that if it were not for Gary, their dogs would not be alive today. He is always very generous with his time and expertise even with hundreds of people he has never met. He has saved the lives of many thousands of dogs either directly or through training others to do what he does.
Earlier this week, while doing maintenance on a tree in his yard, Gary fell the equivalent of one and a half stories. His injuries are extensive. He broke his pelvis and at least one rib. After undergoing a six-hour surgery he was still having some difficulties and underwent additional tests for blood clots. He is not entirely out of the woods and is facing extensive rehabilitation in a facility. He cannot even put weight on his leg on the side of the break for at least six weeks.
His wife Michele is having her own struggles with her health. She depends on Gary to get her to doctor appointments and take care of things around the home.
This GoFundMe campaign was started by Gary’s friends and followers to help defray the costs of his surgery and rehabilitation, as well as the additional expenses in filling his role for his wife. Gary is self employed so of course he doesn’t get sick days. Like many entrepreneurs if he doesn’t work he doesn’t get paid. The dog training world, and dog owners everywhere, need him back as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and thoughts for Gary and Michele. If you are able and willing, please leave a comment and donation to help and encourage them. I will try to update as more news is available about his road to recovery.
