House Explosion in Denver, Colorado

Donation protected

My name is Tony and my dear friend, Melissa, is in desperate need of your help. Here is her story…

Melissa lived in a beautiful townhome in downtown Denver Colorado with her 2 dogs, Vinny and Satori Anu.

On August 10, 2023 after getting dressed and ready to leave for work Melissa was in her bedroom spending time with her dogs when the next thing she knew her whole life blew up in her face.

She was momentarily buried alive by bricks and debris. Her world went dark and then as the dust settled she looked around and found one of her babies lifeless on the bed half covered by the slab of house that knocked the life out of him - - while the other baby stared up at her confused and scared as hell, half buried with bricks dust and debris.

Melissa, dug her body up and out and looked around to see her world had turned to ashes. She was bruised and battered from the smack of the initial blow but immediately took stock of the situation and made her way over to Satori to try and dig her up and out.

It was at that time two strangers came in through a hole in the building, where a wall used to be, screaming to her and asking if she was okay. She pointed out Vinny’s lifeless body and begged for them to help pull Satori from the rubble. Instead the men pulled her up and away from the house and away to safety.

Melissa dashed back into the blown mess 3 times before fireman were there and physically held her back. Although she was injured she refused to leave her, still living, baby half buried, scared and confused. She would not get into the ambulance until Satori was pulled safely and reunited at her side.

Hours passed but the firemen finally got her big girl out okay. It was at that time they confirmed what Melissa already knew, that Vinny Anu had immediately passed with the impact of the initial blow.

Heartbroken Melissa and Satori Anu head to the hospital to be checked out as they begin their trip down this unexpected path and try to find happiness once again. Escaping with nothing but the sandals on her feet and the torn summer romper on her back, by the grace of God, both Melissa and Satori Anu somehow made it through this tragedy with their lives.

Unable to return to her regular job due to sleepless nights full of nightmares, anxiety and stress Melissa finds it near impossible to leave Satori (never knowing the world without her brother by her side) alone for too long, so she has been making ends meet by delivering for Uber eats. Although it helps, the money she is bringing in is no where near enough to feel some kind of normalcy and pay the bills.

They desperately need your help. Please donate through the GoFundMe site or directly through a cash app set up by Melissa in Vinny’s memory at cashapp: $VinnyAnu

Although the cause of the explosion has been determined to be from natural gas the actual reason is still being investigated.
