For us, our long goodbye has to be embraced.
Many of you know we had to step back from dog rescue the past few years, but don't know what we are going through. It was hard to give up helping many and find that we need help too.
After 27 years, I knew my Mike was suffering from something. He went to the neurologist had scans, studies, amongst others. It all came down to Early Onset Alzheimer's. As for Mike, it sort of came as a relief to know the forgetfulness, along with the daily lifes struggles were because of this incurable disease. We of course, still grieve daily.
I continue to work but he had to suddenly resign in early 2013, which has impacted us with financial worries.
It's going to be a long journey for him and I, as his forever caregiver and wife. With my heavy heart if you can give, please do.
