Gastroschisis awareness and neonatal staff

We are raising money to help support the neonatal team that are looking after our little boy. 

 Gastroschisis is a birth defect in which the baby's intestines extend outside of the abdomen through a hole next to the belly button. The size of the hole is variable, and other organs including the stomach and liver may also occur outside the baby's body. Complications may include feeding problems, prematurity, intestinal atresia, and intrauterine growth restriction.

Gastroschisis is a birth defect that babies are born with and have to under go major operations hours after being born in order to have a healthy chance of making it through the first couple of weeks of life. The pregnancy is high risk and has many factors that cause complications for the baby. 

Moments after being born the baby is taken away from its parents unable to meet them, andgets taken to a neonatal intensive care unit to be looked after and monitored 24hours a day. 


We have been amazed at what they have helped us get through and they have been amazing with our little boy. We want to be able to help them the best we can just like they have helped us as a new family. We are wanting to donateas much money as we can to help them supply new equipment, more training, and comfort for the new babies and families that are in their care.
