Gatcombe Brook bridge for new permissive paths

Donation protected
The Parish Council, in conjunction with landowners, is creating three new permissive paths. These will enable safer access from the Littlehempston village road across a field, down over Gatcombe Brook, and then both up to The Pig and Whistle car park and also under the busy A381. The routes will join the existing Public Footpaths to Akrells Hill and Gatcombe.

The Parish Council is raising funds to buy and install a wooden footbridge across Gatcombe Brook to connect the paths.

Funding applications are in process. Devon County Council has given £200, South Hams District Council £380, and Totnes Ramblers Franklin Legacy Fund has offered to match at least £1000 of GoFundMe pledges! Applications for £1000 each have been made to Devon County's 'Growing Communities Fund,' South West Water's community fund, and The Lottery fund.
