Gateway Teen CG Mission Trip to the Philippines

Mission Trip:
Mission Trip is one of the most crucial steps in growing spiritually by allowing us to develop a closer relationship with God and experience faith building moment outside of our comfort zone.
As teens surrounded in a privileged environment, we would like to participate in the work of soul-winning and witness lives, both others' and our own, being transformed by the Holy Spirit in different environments.
Where we're going:
We're heading to the Philippines from 13 September to 1 October 2023. During that time, we'll be serving on a small island called Siquijor, which is in the middle part of the Philippines. This mission field has been allocated to us by the 1000 Missionary Movement in the Philippines.
What is the 1000 Missionary Movement?
1000MM is a training centre for young people to equip them to serve for 1 year, full time in the mission fields. Young people around the world dedicate one year of their life for full time mission work.
Once they get trained at the 1000MM centre, they're sent to the mission fields. Although we won't be dedicating an entire year for training and serving God in the Philippines, we'll be joining them at the mission field and their work of winning souls for Jesus.
What we'll be doing:
Here is brief snap shot of what we'll be doing. In the mornings, we'll be doing home visits to the villagers to share the Bible and health messages.
We're getting trained in measuring blood pressure, blood glucose levels, cholesterol levels, BMI, completing health questionnaires and more. We're going to invite them to the evening evangelism program where we'll be presenting the children's story and health talk. The main message will be preached by grown-ups from our team.
In between morning home visits and evening evangelism, we'll be visiting local schools to have English classes and running a Bible school for the kids in the village. Our Bible school will be similar to Vacation Bible School with action songs, stories, games and crafts. It'll be a fun time and we've already started our preparation!
How to support us:
1. First and most importantly, pray for us! We know that this is the key. So please write down our mission trip on your prayer journal and pray for us.
2. Why don’t you come with us? If you have teenage children, you’re more than welcome to come with us or send your kids. We welcome you!
3. You can donate too! If you have old, but still in good condition, mobile phones or laptops, we can bring them to the people in need. We can also help your old clothing find a new life in the villages! Please contact us for more details such as drop point etc.
4. We would be grateful to receive your monetary donation. We can use it to purchase items for health outreach, Bible School and to support local lay Bible workers. We promise you that all of your donations will go directly for the mission work as we’ll be doing some domestic child labour to chip in for air tickets and other expenses that our parents would cover.
5. There’ll be future fundraising events. We’re thinking about running a lunch event, Sunday market stall, food store and much more. We’ll keep you informed!
