Gathering Strength Canoe Journey

Hello my friends and family, this is way out of my ‘norm’ to ask for help or reach out for anything like this. Some of you may know I have the honour of being offered a seat on a canoe journey this summer called ‘Gathering our strength’. This is an experience that I am Looking forward to as I continue on my healing journey. “Gathering our strength” , This is a fitting name as many youth and some of us older take this initiative to paddle the waters together. As many of you know I have been along with my wife, extremely passionate about lifting others in their time and need. ‘Never look down on someone unless you are lifting them up” . Last summer we travelled the miles in hopes of connect with my roots in Prince Rupert area. All through the roads we travelled we stopped and spent time connecting doing street work lifting those in the community who were in struggle with homelessness and addictions. I had the opportunity to share my story with other survivors and encourage them. This journey will take time away from my family as I join ‘new’ family I have finally located. An opportunity to build each other up and as mentioned gather strength and share stories and why we have all come together. I know my struggles and pain that brought me here to this…This time away will be financially hard for my family but In the same breath it is for all. So I would like to raise monies for all in this journey of finding themselves and finding a way to gift those along the way on this journey. I am truly passionate about keeping those in need close to our cultures. So I am reaching out for help and compassion for our youth as they move forward in their lives as I do mine. Together we can conquer our pains, fears and hardships. Make a mountain of hope and blessings to all that need. Please find it in your hearts to help me in this cause. As I travel the miles again this summer things will be much different. I am so fortunate to be arriving this time connected to so many family members I have never had the opportunity to meet. I am also so honoured to have those paddling with me, paddle me home to my Village in Kitkatla where I will stay overnight and feast. An opportunity of a lifetime for me. I am looking forward to connecting with others on the way to lift them and to join in this amazing experience on the canoe journey. It will be many hours of driving where I will have those opportunities to connect again and then I will join the Gathering our strength journey and hit the open waters to paddle for many days. This will be a full 2 weeks away from work and home. I could really use some help to make this all possible.Together we can build a mountain
