Gavin Glynn Foundation Treble Marathon Challenge
Back in December 2021 doctors found a tumour in my then 4 yr old son Cain's brain before being rushed to Temple Street for an emergency surgery. Days later following an 8 hour surgery the tumour was successfully removed but unfortunately it was diagnosed as a malignant medulloblastoma which required 5 months of chemotherapy in Crumlin before radiation treatment. After the amazing care from everyone on St Gabriel's ward in Temple Street and St John's ward in Crumlin the next phase of Cain's treatment was proton beam radiation therapy in Essen, Germany for 7 weeks during July & August 2022. In stepped John Glynn and the Gavin Glynn Foundation who took all the stress out of relocating the whole family by offering advice, booking flights, transfers and accommodation while also covering the costs too.
I've decided to run the UTS Snowdonia 55k in Wales on May 13th, the Cork City Marathon on June 4th with my brother Donal(Don) and the Imra Slieve Bloom Marathon on June 24th this year to raise some funds for all the great work done and families helped each year by the Gavin Glynn Foundation . I would be grateful for your support. You can donate by following the go fund me link below, via revolut or cash works fine too.
Many thanks,
Micheal
Cain's treatment was a great success, he started primary school last September and doing well since!
