Tragically Taken Too Soon - Gavin Tyler Rickard
Donation protected
I am Gavin’s aunt and I am fundraising for my brother, Chris. Three weeks ago, my brother’s only son was senselessly murdered at 19 years old. Our friends and family have asked us how they can help show support. My brother has incurred several large unexpected expenses to cover costs for Gavin’s untimely death. You can show your love and support by sharing this page or if you are able, by donating. No parent should ever have to bury their child. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Nothing will bring Gavin back, but I’m trying to help alleviate any stress on my brother during this already unbearable time.
From Chris:
On April 2nd, my only son, Gavin, was taken from this world in a senseless act of gun violence. He was only 19 years old and had his entire life ahead of him. Last March, I moved him to a good area in Jacksonville, FL, to begin his adult life with his girlfriend. He was growing into a respectful young man with a strong entrepreneurial drive and passion for life. Gavin would send me daily motivational texts such as "Dad, every day you have to ask yourself, have you done enough today?".
Then, in a blink of an eye, the unimaginable happened. Someone stole my son's life and collapsed the world we knew. Nothing can prepare you for the excruciating loss of a child..! The kind of nightmare you may have only watched on TV or heard about. You never think this sort of thing will happen to you or anyone you love. But then it does, and you are forced to face the sad reality of your child being forever gone. With that reality, brings the pain of not being able to share a laugh, a hug or any emotion for that matter ever again... Only then, do you realize how trivial all other stresses of life really are.
As we navigate through this unthinkable tragedy, we are reminded that the only thing that matters in this world are the people we love.
Many valued friends and family have come forward asking for ways to help but don’t necessarily know how. This memorial fund is to honor Gavin and to help ease financial stress associated with Gavin’s death. He would have loved that Heather set this up.
Thank you sincerely for your support and contribution..!
