Help Gavin Fight Cancer: Many Hands, Light Work
Donation protected
Gavin Price is a bright, brave 13-year-old boy who was recently diagnosed with a rapidly moving cancer. While doctors are working to determine the exact type, they do know that it is T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma/Leukemia and are just working to determine if it qualifies as leukemia or lymphoma. The cancer has spread to his liver and chest cavity, and doctors are testing to determine if it is anywhere else. Treatment for either option includes chemo and other medications (oral and intravenous) on a regular basis for several months, with an overall treatment plan that lasts 2 to 2.5 years. The initial treatment plan is very intensive, requiring travel to and from the hospital multiple times a week at times.
During this treatment, Gavin will likely be unable to attend school in person and will need to have a parent stay at home with him. Neither of Gavin's parents, Kirsten and Kyle McBride, have a job that fits with a work-from-home schedule, and they may need to take time off, up to 6 months. Additionally, they have two other young children, one of whom has special needs and requires consistent care and many therapies and appointments.
We are hoping to raise at least $10,000 to help the McBride family pay for medical and living expenses as they help Gavin through his treatment to heal and get stronger and to keep their family afloat in the meantime. In addition to funds, they also appreciate any prayers you would like to offer.
I am Gavin's aunt, Katie, and his mom's sister. All funds donated (outside of GFM fees) will go directly to the McBride family for their use.
