Gavin's Mitzvah Project: IFAW
Donation protected
I’m so excited for my Bar Mitzvah on May 7th, 2022. As part of becoming a Bar Mitzvah, I am doing a mitzvah project to support animals in the U.S. and Ukraine. I know that most people have probably already made donations to help the people fleeing from Ukraine. However, animals are often the forgotten victims of war. Many animal shelters and sanctuaries are refusing to leave the pets that they care for and need help. In addition, refugees are crossing the border with their animals and require veterinary supplies and food. IFAW is an organization committed to working with its partners to help animals in shelters, zoos and sanctuaries in addition to refugees with pets. For example, one of IFAW's partner shelters (which currently cares for over a thousand dogs) is in desperate need of dry dog food. Their shelter was bombed, but their staff refused to leave, even when messages were being played on loudspeakers urging residents to evacuate immediately. Please refer to the Youtube video for more real-life examples of people attempting to cross the border with their pets.
If you would like to contribute to this amazing organization, please click on the link. 100% of the proceeds will go directly towards IFAW's efforts in specifically helping animals in the Ukraine. I keep thinking what if this happened to my family and my dog, Jimmy, and it makes me sad. Together, we can help pets and families in Ukraine who are just like us to have better lives ahead. Thank you so much in advance for participating in a cause that is so important to me!
Love,
Gavin
