Hello!
My name is Kemar Jewel, and I am a professional director and choreographer. I'm currently working on a piece of art that I believe can be a gamechanger. My newest project G.A.Y. (God Accepts You) by Kemar Jewel will showcase Queer Faces in Faith Spaces, a narrative that is so often forgotten about.
For Queer people, especially Queer people of color, faith and spirituality has been apart of our lives in some capacity. I especially think it's important for Queer youth to hear these types of messages because often times they are told they cannot have a relationship with God because of who they are. With that being said, I want to create a piece of art that really shows the world that no matter who you are or who you love, God accepts you 100%.
The mission of the work I create is to showcase the talents, lives, and truths of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) people of color and their communities through theatre, music, and dance. My work has been featured on the Huffington Post, TIME Magazine, MSNBC, and Fox News - to name a few.
With your finacial support we will be able to fund the venue, equipment and costumes to make sure this video will be one to remember! These are LGBTQ people who are putting their blood, sweat, and tears into this project and i want to make sure the final product will be nothing short of a masterpiece.
