Circle of Support

What started as what he thought was a sore throat in October quickly turned into the fight for his life in November. My brother, Joey Sankey, was admitted to the hospital on November 26th, and was diagnosed with stage four cancer. Joey has growing tumors on his right lung, stomach, spine, and a 8 mm spot on the left side of his brain. Joey’s lymph nodes are swelling and squeezing his vocal cords making it very difficult to speak and the tumors on his spine are causing great pain and discomfort to stand up straight for more than 15 minutes at a time.

Joey is scheduled to meet with the doctors at Cleveland clinic on December 29th to discuss his treatment plan which will include chemotherapy and radiation.

Joey is a loving father of three children, two grandchildren and his rescue dog, Maddie, whose previous owner sadly passed away to cancer and Joey saved her from the kennel. He is a son, brother, uncle and friend to so many loved ones. Since going to the hospital on November 26th, Joey hasn’t been able to return to work as a truck driver where he was delivering blacktop to cities, highways and turnpikes- Joey is suffering financially, he has not received one dollar of income to support his family since his diagnosis.

We are asking friends and family to please help alleviate some of the stress of the financial burden that this life changing diagnosis has created so that Joey can focus on surgery and treatment.

Donations will go toward: groceries, utility bills, toiletries, dog food, and gas for Cleveland Clinic appointments and surgery.

Joey lives a quiet life in Girard and wants the generous friends and family who offer support to know he is sorry to seek help and trusts that he has God on his side, and anything is possible..
