Gayane's Medical Treatment & Care
Donation protected
This is our beautiful best friend, Gayane. On October 3rd, she and her friend, Nada, were studying in her friend's apartment. They are both in their 5th semester of medical school at MUA St. Kits/ Nevis. They had their placement exams coming up in December. We are still trying to piece together the tragic and horrific event that occurred in those moments, but what we can gather is that there was a gas-line explosion while both of them were inside the apartment. Other students pulled them out and drove them to the nearest hospital on the island. Nada was air-lifted to a hospital in the states shortly there after, however, Gayane remained on the island while her family was searching for a hospital that would accept and treat her.... because she does not have medical insurance in the U.S. Finally, almost 24 hours later, they found a hospital willing to take her and she was air-ambulanced there. Mid-flight, the pilot had to make an emergency landing to a different hospital, because she needed to seek treatment immediately. She is now in the ICU with 90% 2nd degree burns. Her family and closest friends are all by her side praying for her recovery.
As our mighty solider continues to fight for her life, we need to strengthen her will with our well wishes and prayers. Her beautiful spirit deserves all of our praise and celebration.
To those that know her: Please post words of encouragement, share stories, share pictures, share good memories. We will be reading them to her. We need to remind her of all the badassery that she is. She needs to hear the impact she has made in each and every one of your lives.
If you don't know her, here are the highlights: She is a fighter. She is a lover. She is the first friend to show up in time of need and the last one to leave. She is the most grateful and wonderful daughter. She is the most loving and caring big sister. She has a diamond heart, one that still shines during the darkest of times. Her laugh is absolutely contagious. Oh and be careful not to get on her bad side, she might be short...but she is mighty.
Friends, due to the astronomical medical bills that are about to start piling up, we ask that you please donate anything you can. Every single $1 counts, do it anonymously, it does not matter. On behalf of the Balasanyan family, we appreciate any and all donations, they will be going straight to Marina (Gayane's mom).
Please share this page with your friends, family, coworkers, anyone and everyone that you know. Keep praying and God will take care of the rest.
