Gaza Family Evacuation Fund

Dear Supporter,

My name is Sarah Barzak, a Malay-Palestinian living in Canada. I am reaching out to you for support in getting my cousin and his family out of Gaza to Egypt.

My Baba was born and raised in Gaza. My Teta (grandmother) was exiled to Gaza in 1948 from Yafa. My grandfather is ancestrally from Gaza. This is where the majority of Baba's family lives. In October, my family members evacuated from the north to the south. They have been internally displaced several times and are seeking refuge in Egypt.

I am raising $40 000 CAD ($29 200 USD) to support their evacuation and resettlement fees. My family members have lost their livelihoods and are in need of financial support to safely evacuate and resettle. The average cost of evacuation to Egypt is $6850-9600 CAD ($5000-7000 USD) per person. This amount doesn’t include resettlement expenses such as rent, food, clothing, medicine — money they will need to survive.
