Rescuing my sisters' families from Gaza horrors

Exchange rate: 70kr = 10$ / 75kr = 10€

I am Mubtasem 28 years old and the youngest sibling in my family. I need your help to make me able to help my two sisters and their families including a few months old baby to escape the horrors and build a better future.

The two families lost their homes and belongings and have since October 2023 lived as refugees in the southern part of Gaza under inhumane conditions that you know so well from the news reports.

While I try to give as much support I can from my safe position in Denmark, getting 4 parents and 6 children into Egypt and onwards to a safer future is very costly. With your help we can cover the costs of crossing the border and initial living costs in Egypt. I am hopeing to meet them again after been unable to do so for 10 years, as I was never able to return to Gaza after my parents sent me out at the age of 18.

Main target of the fund:

1. Help the two families felt outside Gaza.

Crossing the border cost, (5000$ per Adult) and (2500$ per child). That leads to a total amount of 35000$ to cover the two families. The families could leave Gaza 3-5 weeks after getting in queue. The registration has to be done in Cairo and by a close family member - that will be me with current statues.

It has been the case for latest years, that the daily allowed number of people to cross the border is very limited (300-400 people per day). That has not changed with the war started. This had impacted the registration fee to increase much due to high demand. Sad story this price is set by Egyptian government.

2. Help with a new beginning in a safer place.

Second goal is to support the 2 families with their new journey.

Some thoughts my sister recently shared with me:

“We are living a strange life – it is a nightmare far from any life we ever imagined or lived. Now we are all in one shelter sharing it with many other families with children. The restroom we share with 20 people.

As a mother, I always think on how to have food for my children to cover their need. I no longer find the fruits, vegetables or meat I could give them before. The prices are sky high and the food I can give them just about secures their survival. My beloved youngest boy was born in September - I am worried about him. I fight hard to make sure, he gets one proper full meal per day. And I make sure he completes it all.

I would like to note that the decision to start this campaign has not been taken lightly. But now we are losing hope in the situation in Gaza not deteriorating any further, and I owe my family to help them seek a better life and a safe place away from the concentration camp that is Gaza.

If the war is put to an end or evacuation becomes impossible or unpractical for any or some or all family members for any reason, all your funds will go to support the 2 families for a better life.
