GAZA URGENT: HELP EVACUATE SICK CHILD AND FAMILY

Dear World, my name is Yasmiena and I am here to share the story of my baby cousin Kareem and hopefully raise enough money to aid him and my family members InshAllah.

URGENT MEDICAL AID AND EVACUATION REQUIRED: 6 year old Abdel Kareem is fatally ill from intestinal adhesions as a result of contaminated water supply within the Gaza Strip. His mother has attempted to seek medical treatment from 4 different hospitals across Gaza, but there is no staff, medicine, or treatment available for him. Without IMMEDIATE MEDICAL TREATMENT, he will die. Kareem requires aid in order to cross the Rafah Crossing, to receive treatment in Egypt.

Abdel Kareem is a sweet young child whose life has been severely altered by the on-going war in Gaza. My uncle, Kareem's grandfather, has been tasked with taking care of Kareem as well 13 other family members cramped into a poorly built tent, that is flooded and lacking sanitation. The children's ages range from as young as 1 year old to 10 years old. They have been displaced twice already first in October from their family home and then again from the home of one of my uncle's daughters. Making it a total of 15 of my family members cramped together in a tent not suitable for living. Their homes have been leveled and are fully reliant on small amounts of aid provided by community members as to not starve to death.

Due to the bombing of the water infrastructure in Gaza, Kareem and his siblings are forced to drink dirty water that is contaminated with disease and is considered unsuitable for human consumption. The scarcity of food has also resulted in extreme malnutrition and dehydration for Kareem and my family members. This combined with the unsanitary nature of Gaza currently has resulted in Kareem developing a serious life threatening illness. He is urinating blood, and his small intestines have developed adhesions causing extreme abdominal pain. No child should have to endure such terrible health conditions.

Currently, Kareem and his family do not have a source of income and have lost their homes, educational facilities, and livelihoods. Abdel Kareem's family do not have the funds to pay the extortionate prices to evacuate and leave Gaza. By donating, Abdel Kareem and some members of our family will be able to leave Gaza through the Rafah Crossing where he will be able to be admitted to Egyptian medical care facilities. These funds will also pay for the cost of medical treatment, antibiotics, and any surgeries Kareem may require. Furthermore, it will pay for living costs for Kareem and our family as he recovers inshAllah. The amount of people we can evacuate directly correlates with the amount of money that is crowdfunded. The initial goal is to raise enough money to at least get Kareem and his mother out, pay for medical and living expenses etc.
