Help Leanne Get Back on Her Feet Post HeartFailure

Donation protected
On February 5, 2023 Leanne was a happy 29 year old often seen with her goldendoodle Lily, and was also the proud owner of a pet care business many in the area are familiar with., Royal Paws Pet Service. The next day, her life unexpectedly changed forever…and she also nearly lost it. I am an ICU nurse, client, and friend of Leanne’s. I’m starting this GoFundMe because she desperately needs our help. Leanne has been through so much this year aside from her medical situation. But in February, she ended up in a critical medical situation which included sudden respiratory arrest, numerous seizures leading to brain damage, and then ultimately cardiac arrest. As a result of all other efforts to keep her alive failing, Leanne was placed on VA ECMO. It is a machine that essentially pumps your heart and oxygenates your blood. Enables your severely damaged heart and lungs to take a break when both are failing. It is the last resort option when nothing else has been successful. Leanne spent a while in the ICU and more weeks recovering inpatient at Hartford Hospital. Unfortunately, things didn’t stop there. As a result of the trauma her body went through while trying to save her life, she has had further medical complications related to that initial stay. Some that unfortunately cannot simply be “healed” and that she will live with for the rest of her life-including seizures and decreased heart function. After complications from that initial stay sending her back inpatient numerous times, and more, she has been unable to work on a regular basis, much less enjoy life and really start to recover in all ways necessary. From extensive medical bills to regular bills just necessary to live, medication and doctors appointment copays, etc she is in dire need of our help. Every resource has been exhausted thus far. Even with medical issues limiting her ability to drive at times, etc she’s tried to still be there for people.
Please take a minute to read more about Leanne and why she deserves our help: I personally met Leanne in September 2022 when I asked her to watch my cat for the first time. She came highly recommended and I am grateful that I found Leanne and her business. After she watched my cat for the first time, we started to get to know each other better and I quickly found out how fun and kind of a person she is. When she watched my cat again in January, she went above and beyond. She offered to do so much extra for me when I wasn’t able to return home when planned. Although this post isn’t about how I found a new friend unexpectedly, I feel like people deserve to know what kind of a person she is and how hard even asking for help has been for her. She’s someone that has literally gone to care for animals on crutches the day after a leg surgery and never asks for more. Her business means the world to her. Although many own and run pet care businesses, Leanne’s is not your typical one. She goes above and beyond because she truly loves what she does. She is an exceptional care giver and treats her clients like family. Because she values the relationships she’s built with her clients, not being able to operate her business regularly has been hard not only financially, but also hard because she loves what she does and the animals she cares for. Not being able to work because of medical limitations has meant medical and other bills are piling up and with continuing medical issues related to everything she has been through, it will become more and more of a burden as time continues. Please consider helping me raise money for Leanne to ease some of her massive financial burden so she can continue recovery with less stress…and also hopefully return to running her business to some degree down the road. She is the sweetest person and is always willing to lend a hand to those in need. So please, consider helping her too. If you’ve met her even once, you know how much she deserves all the help we can give her. Any amount helps. If you prefer to donate another way, please let me know. Any “shares” would also be greatly appreciated so word gets out-hopefully the community can come together to help Leanne like she’s helped so many of us. Thank you so much.
